I was looking through some old writings going as far back as 2008, when I discovered one I had written to my future self when I was “awake”. Not like awake from sleeping, but spiritually awake. A moment where nothing seemed to distract me from hearing God’s voice day in and day out.
As a follower of Christ, I think we have all had those mountain top and valley moments. Mountain Top moments being moments in our walk with Christ when we kinda feel like how Moses might have felt when He talked to God face to face on the mountain (Exodus 19), and Valley Moments being moments when we feel like we are Elijah in the desert, with the mindset that God has abandoned us (1 Kings 19). The following is the letter I wrote to myself probably back in 2009. It really encouraged me. Sounds kinda funny to say that God encouraged me through myself, but He really did. 🙂 So hopefully this will encourage anyone who reads this as well! A reminder to me that Jesus Christ is the Only God and He is alive! Enjoy and God Bless!
Josh, you are awake!
This day, no matter what you do. Your day might be the same as every other day, but YOU can choose to spend it with God or not. When you fail, don’t think life is over, but know that God is standing with His Arms open. And His Love will change You! His Grace and Mercy NEVER fail. He doesn’t abandon You, like you seem to think alot. Praise Him for what You have, and don’t be ashamed to ask Him to use You, or give you songs to Praise Him. Just know that you don’t own anything, but God does. Humble yourself and know that you are but a human. God is everything you will ever need in life! Don’t look at the world as hopeless, but look to God as Hope. Your Hope for today, and Your Hope for tomorrow! Praise Him with your WHOLE heart and soul, and mind! And do it with all your strength! He is your Joy! And you will have Life in Him! Live each day for God! Renew your mind each morning, and Praise God with ALL of your heart, with ALL of Your Soul, with ALL of Your mind, and with ALL strength! Don’t keep looking at the past and letting your regrets for lack of spending time with God hold you back. But instead let it persuade you to spend your time wisely! That means NOW! Speak to God and listen for God to speak back to You! KNOW HE IS GOD!
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind. – Luke 10:27
