“So set your heart and mind on Jesus Christ today! You won’t regret it! Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” – Psalms 37:4

The more time you spend with Jesus Christ, the more Your heart will become like His heart. As You fix your eyes upon Him, you will soon want to place your eyes on nothing else but Him. Psalm 37:4 says that if we put our delight in the Lord, then He will give us the desires of our heart.

This verse can be read two ways. One, if we delight in the Lord, then whatever we desire on this earth will be given to us, regardless of what it may be. However, this, I believe, is not what the verse is directly saying. The other way it can be read, which is what I have found is full of so much joy and hope is this. When we take delight in the Lord, He will place His desires into our heart. He will give us what our hearts are to desire, and our hearts will become like His heart. Every desire we have will be what He desires and out hearts will yearn after the things of God.

Isn’t it refreshing to know that all of our selfish desires will be replaced by His thoughts, and that our desires will be set on committing our ways to Him, that we might receive all the other Blessings mentioned in Psalm 37. We can then be truly be confident in this: “That if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” – 1 John 5:14
